Brighton Beach Scumbags

“Dillon skilfully marshals mime, sound, lights, stylised speech patterns, exaggerated movement and silence in the construction of an abrasive but poetic theatrical language.”
(The Guardian)

George Dillon directed the world premiere of Steven Berkoff’s play Brighton Beach Scumbags as the inaugural production for Brighton Theatre Events in 1991. The cast comprised of Belinda Blanchard (Dinah), Tessa Burbridge (Doreen), Jimmy Flint (Derek), Ralf Higgins (Ted), Jason Merrells (Tom) and Steve North (Dave) and the production was designed by Andrew Kay.

Dillon also directed a revival at the King’s Head in 2008.
