Pistols

“A haunting performance – ferocious, incisive and hideously compelling. His stage command is absolute… When he is still, he pulsates danger.” (The Stage)

In 1998, Chris Beaumont asked George Dillon to play Johnny Rotten in Pistols at The Gloucester nightclub in Brighton. “But I can’t sing!“, Dillon replied and insisted that Beaumont auditon him first. “Well, you can’t sing,” said Beaumont after they’d tried a few numbers, “but you can perform!” And so Dillon faced down one of his biggest fears and ‘sang’ six Sex Pistols songs in public, opening the show with ‘Anarchy in the UK‘.
